Community Clean-Ups
Recycle Everywhere proudly supports community and organization-led litter reduction efforts throughout Manitoba through its free clean-up kit program.
In addition to providing the materials necessary to plan and execute a successful clean-up, Recycle Everywhere shares best practices and the education needed for Manitobans who want to organize their own community clean-up.
Since 2021, we have provided over 100,000 garbage and recycling bags to Manitobans. We have processed and fulfilled over 2,000 requests for 50,000 protective gloves and best practice postcards to assist in grassroots clean-up efforts, all at no cost for volunteers and organizers.

After the Cleanup
- Show Appreciation: Thank your volunteers!
- Dispose of Waste Properly: Arrange for proper garbage disposal and recycling.
- Track and Celebrate Progress: Share updates with the Recycle Everywhere team on how much was accomplished during the event and how many bags of recycling and waste were collected.
During the Cleanup
- Wear Proper Gear: Gloves, sturdy shoes, and bright clothing for safety and visibility.
- Avoid Hazards: Don’t touch needles, syringes, chemicals, or unfamiliar items.
- Stay Safe: Keep kids with an adult, especially near roads or busy areas.
- Make It Fun: Create a positive atmosphere to encourage participation and keep energy high.
Before the Clean-up
- Set a Date and Time: Pick a day and time for everyone.
- Spread the Word: Use social media and word of mouth to gather friends, family and community members as your volunteers.
- Contact Recycle Everywhere: Get your clean-up kit for supplies, beverage container recycling support, and educational material from the Recycle Everywhere team.
